Down the TBR Hole is a meme created by Lia @ Lost in a Story.
Most of you probably know this feeling, your Goodreads TBR pile keeps growing and growing and it seems like there is no light at the end of the tunnel. You keep adding, but you add more than you actually read. And then when you’re scrolling through your list, you realize that you have no idea what half the books are about and why you added them. Well that’s going to change!
IT WORKS LIKE THIS:
- Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books. Of course if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
- Read the synopses of the books
- Decide: keep it or should it go?
Also, I’m doing another impromptu life update at the end of this post. Yes, it’s related to my sister.
Do you know how on the fence I am about this book? But, in the end, I don’t really think I want to read this. It’s going to be on my radar, but I don’t need it on my list.
Verdict: GO!
My face when I saw this book on my TBR:
Need I say more?
Verdict: GO!
Yeah, this doesn’t sound like my thing now.
Verdict: GO!
I have such a morbid curiosity about this book. Like, damn. It’s one of those books I want to read but also don’t because I know it’s going to be horrible.
Verdict: Keep
I can see why I added this book, but I also don’t think I’d like it now.
Verdict: GO!
True crime that focuses on really old crimes? Oh god, my kink.
Verdict: Keep
I’m going to read this. One day.
Verdict: Keep
I’m pretty sure that I own this.
Verdict: Keep
Nah. Doesn’t sound like my thing.
Verdict: GO!
Nah, I think I’d rather read a nonfiction book on the topic.
Verdict: GO!
Last TBR: 1671
Books kept: 4
Books removed: 6
Current TBR: 1602
I got bored one day at work — aka, I got distracted in my mind and work wasn’t taking my mind off it, so I did something else — and just purged a bunch on some shelves. So, here we are! Nearly to 1599!
Obviously, I wrote this post a while ago. Well, a few days ago. I always schedule my shit these days. But, I’ve already posted this on Instagram, so if you follow us there and watch our stories you’ll know. My sister passed away yesterday. There are posts coming up, but I’m going to give myself a little break to process things.
Thank you all for keeping her and us in your thoughts.
Have you read any of these?
Should I have kept any I let go or vice versa?
Actually autobiography of a serial killer sounds really interesting ahah!

Doesn’t it? It’s not easy to get your hands on, though.
