January’s Challenge Check-In

copy of copy of copy of top ten tuesday

In order to hold myself accountable, I’m going to do monthly check-ins to see where I’m at with my challenges to myself! Obviously, I’m going to reflect on the month that had just passed since I can’t exactly evaluate the current month just yet.

But, let’s see how I did in my first month!

Top Ten Books

So, I chose ten books that I want to read in 2019. So far, I’ve read one of them, which was We Two: Victoria and Albert: Rulers, Partner, Rivals by Gillian Gill. I’m also working through The Bible! Currently, I’m on Leviticus, so we’re still early days on that one.

Historical Women

I challenged myself to read 25 books about historical women. I’m also branching out from books that I own so I can include books that I check out from the library, but my emphasis is still going to be on books I own.

I read three books last month about historical women! So, I’m sitting at 3/25 right now. I read: Queen Anne, Georgiana, and We Two last month. I’m happy with that number and the ride will continue!

I don’t read nearly enough sci-fi, so I want to read ten sci-fi books this year. In January, I read three (granted, one was a DNF)! I read Lifelik3The Luminous Dead, and A Study in Honor.

Okay, I didn’t read any horror books, although I could argue that The Luminous Dead ought to count. But, I didn’t read any strictly horror books. I’m going to be remedying that in February!

Talk to me!
How are your challenges going?
