September wrap-up

Wrap-up

Wow, this month just flew by. Part of me can’t believe that it’s over because so much happened. I’m in full swing of things at school, which means that I barely get anything done. Yet, somehow, I managed to read enough to fill up the month!

So, let’s just do a summary of what I read below.

The Awesome Blogger Award

Hello!

We were tagged by Ally @ Ally Writes Things and this is great! This is just going to be done by Caidyn this time around, even though Chantel was tagged as well. Thank you so, so much for the nomination!

Rules

  • Thank the person who nominated you.
  • Tag it under #awesomebloggeraward
  • Answer the questions asked.
  • Nominate at least five awesome bloggers.
  • Give your nominees ten questions.
  • Let your nominees know that they’ve been nominated.

The award was created by Maggie @ Dreaming of Guatemala who stated, “This is an award for the absolutely wonderful writers all across the blogging world. They have beautiful blogs, are kind and lovely, and always find a way to add happiness and laughter to the lives of their readers. That is what truly defines an awesome blogger.”

Top Ten Tuesday – Stephen King Books I Still Haven’t Read

Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018!

Technically, the prompt this week is Books By My Favorite Authors That I Still Haven’t Read, but I couldn’t think of a single author that I liked. So I decided that I would forget this one and use the day to schedule something else. And then I had a

Mini DNF Reviews

Caidyn's review (1)

Here we go again. I have opinions about books I didn’t finish. This should surprise no one by this point. This time, I present, two books! One’s an ARC by a popular YA author and one is a book that people have loved as the latest feminist dystopian piece. Since these are DNFs, they are going to be 1/5.

Let’s just get into this one!

Down the TBR Hole

Down the TBR Hole

Down the TBR Hole is a meme created by Lia @ Lost in a Story.

Most of you probably know this feeling, your Goodreads TBR pile keeps growing and growing and it seems like there is no light at the end of the tunnel. You keep adding, but you add more than you actually read. And then when you’re scrolling through your list, you realize that you have no idea what half the books are about and why you added them. Well that’s going to change!

IT WORKS LIKE THIS:

  • Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books. Of course if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go?

First Lines Friday

First Lines Friday

First Lines Fridays is a weekly feature for book lovers hosted by Wandering Words. What if instead of judging a book by its cover, its author or its prestige, we judged it by its opening lines?

  • Pick a book off your shelf (it could be your current read or on your TBR) and open to the first page
  • Copy the first few lines, but don’t give anything else about the book away just yet – you need to hook the reader first
  • Finally… reveal the book!

Again, just Caidyn, so you’ll have to put up with me some more. This time, I’m going to jump right back in.
