Gushing with Caidyn and Chantel

Gushing with Caidyn and Chantel

Hello! This is a brand new addition to our blog. We decided that our First Lines Friday were getting hard to generate with new books to feature. So, we decided to make this new thing up.

The rules are:

  • Pick one thing that you’re really into this week
  • Gush about it

Literally, that’s it. That’s all you have to do for this.

It’s not exactly a tag so there aren’t huge rules. It’s more for Chantel and I to branch out into some new things. This was created as a book blog, but we love music, TV, movies, podcasts, video games, etc. And we want to talk about it more with you.

Caidyn will be in blue.
Chantel will be in purple.

Chantel’s the one who always talks about music, but I love music, too. I don’t listen to it all the time like she does, but I do love it. And, right now, I’m pretty damn obsessed with Panic! at the Disco’s new album, Pray for the Wicked.

I’ve always loved the band, but the last few albums that they’ve done, I’ve really loved. Death of a Bachelor was a great album for me. It was so much fun and I loved the versatility of it. Now, this one, I also love.

I’m not going to talk about the whole album, but I’m pointing out my favorite three songs.

All three of the songs deal with substance abuse and the dark side of fame. (Also, Hey Look Ma, I Made It does in the music video. I won’t include it, but it’s also very good.) But, they off-set it with upbeat music and big brass. Now, I love big brass. It’s so great because I love how it’s used in the songs.

Basically, everyone should listen to this album because the whole thing is gold, just that these are my top three.

I personally really like this new idea because we can gush about things we’ve been into for the last week. Outside of reading, I like watching a lot of TV and this week is no different. Every summer, there is a reality TV show that I get excited for and watch but then stop watching.

It’s called Big Brother and it is in its 20th season, but this doesn’t really mean a lot because Big Brother is totally gimmicky and full of twists every season. Frankly, if I had a guilty pleasure this would be it. The last few seasons haven’t been interesting enough to keep me watching three episodes a week. Yeah, that’s right, three episodes a week.

However, I really like this cast. There are some interesting and quirky characters. My only issue so far is that there isn’t really a celebration of 20 seasons which is disappointing, but this season lasts 99 days so for the next three months there could be any number of things happening so we’ll have to see. Although, it’s more likely that I stop watching because three episodes a week is too much work.

Talk to us!
Have you listened to Pray for the Wicked? If so, what’s your favorite song?
Have you ever watched Big Brother? If so, are you watching the current season?
